Thank Me Juve...?

We found this story up on Karen Civil's (whom The Ordinary Girl adores!) site. Who knew Drake was kinda like a big deal? When Mr Caterpillar Eyebrows is not putting Lil Kim in her place and trading sex game with Trey Songz, the Canadian actor-cum-rapper has inspired rapper Juvenile to er, flatter him.

Roger that, did you copy that, c-c-copycat anyone? Ahem.

Up top is Drake's cover art for his recently leaked debut album, Thank Me Later. Below is Juvenile's Beast Mode album cover.

Yes we know the Juvenile and Cash Money history. And we know that Young Money - fronted by Drake and The Harajuku Barbie (and maybe Tyga, we're undecided) are the new school version of that era.

But this right here... one could argue that the covers are only similar. Not the same thing. What say you? Here is what Juve had to say when Rap Radar's Elliot Wilson and Miss Angela Yee quizzed him on the er, similarities. Tjowee!

If you want theblagg's opinion both these covers are wack! Straight up. But if you don't want our opinion, we're still keen to know yours. What do you think of this mess?

Imitation: The Highest Form Of Flattery

So theblagg shows love to rapper, Mothipa, as much as the next person. Ok, maybe just as much as the average rap fan because we have nothing on these groupies! But we digress. If you haven't already, go out and get a copy of Mothipa's EP, Cure For The Pain. The cover (see above)in all its awesomery was crafted by Vaal Brotha and one half of rap duo XO, X-Rate.

But back to the reason for this post: while scrolling through all the mess that is found on these mean internet streets, theblagg came across this cool ass Industry Hi-Jack Unplugged video. The "lead single" or "street single" as some would term it was produced by theblagg familia Hope and as if the original production was not amazing in itself, Phutirapheeha (theblagg takes no responsibility for names that you a) cannot pronounce b)do not understand the meaning of c) whatever excuse you can think of for this conundrum of a word) and his band have shot themselves actually playing the instrumental. Looks like the dudes had a lot of fun so we made like the blaggoons that we are and ripped it off the net for your viewing pleasure. Support people who love what they do and do what the love!

Guess Not

Chuck Taylor All Stars, or Converse All Stars also referred to as "Chucks" are canvas and rubber sneakers which were first produced in 1917. Fast forward to 2009, Guess releases the exact same design as their "new sneaker". This puts Guess in a long list of Chuck Taylor biters, they get no love from me. After brands like Levis, Soviet and Fila also having their go at the plagiarism of All Stars, you would think that Guess would have the dignity or at least the common sense not to attempt to go down the same road. Guess again, it seems the All Star bandwagon just got another passenger.
