Telling It Like It Is
Over at theblagg HQ (pretend we've got a head quarters, come on!), we are suckers for new music. Ra's Rayz, who is one half of hip hop group, Audiophiles, keeps threatening that he and Al Da 3rd are going to drop something new soon on Twitter. We're waiting Ra's! Hurry up. In the meantime, here's a reminder of who Audiophiles are:

FRWEDNESDAY MIXTAPE
Happy Hump Day! If you've been reading theblagg or following fratpack (@fratpackmusic) then you already know what frwednesday is all about. If not then do not pass go, do not collect 200 and get the heck off the internet. I'm just kidding. Come back, come back. Now, you all know the hip hop group called fratpack (one word, all lower case), right? For every Wednesday of the past couple of months, they would release a song for their fam. Called frwednesdays, the songs were mostly the two brothers rapping on beats that me far-outed. So it's only fitting that me and Mr Calibre drop a compilation of those joints and a few new ones on a Wednesday. Yep, TODAY. The frwednesday Mixtape is available for free download over HERE and in addition to features by the likes of BIG FKN GUN and Reason as well as far-outing my favourite Zaki Ibrahim song, the mixtape is packed full of surprises. The frwednesday mixtape is the final offering before fratpack's famlove EP is released in the final quarter of this year. Tell all your frwednes! Here's the tracklist:

Without You

You know a track's about to get heavy when it starts off with "Did heaven really need my pops more than we did..."
Audiophiles' Without You takes some inner demons and puts them on Front Street. Ras Rayz takes stock of his life without his father. A few weeks ago, this half of Audiophiles took to twitter and,in less than 140 characters, pre-empted releasing this song by saying he'd been examining who his father was. Luckily for the listener, he has a few more characters to spit on this joint with a sick sample. What are your thoughts on Without You?

Audiophiles
It's no secret, around these parts Audiophiles are family. So when we discovered we've just about used all the pictures of Ras Rayz and Al Da 3rd that we had, we had a bit of bbm scolding and then found this cute picture over HERE. Dope, right? And how about their most recent jam, All The Same? You can listen to it below. The rap duo feature Mothipa on the third verse. As the picture says, forget your headphones and bump it loud then tell us your thoughts blaggers and blaggettes.

Cold Case Of Procrastination

You know when you tell yourself you'll do something and then a million and one things then come up? That recently happened to The Ordinary Girl. You see I wanted to share this song with you all when it first came out but procrastination is a biyatch. It's an Audiophiles (comprising Ras Rayz and Al Da 3rd) joint that sees Ras Rayz jump on a Rihanna beat. Yes, we know he'd love to just jump on Rihanna - especially in this picture - but her beat will have to suffice. The brother took on Cold Case Love and shared some of his experiences in this verse. You have to wait quite a bit for him to come through but if you don't mind Miss Fivehead Fenty's voice then you'll like the joint. But let us know if you're feeling this remix anyway, ok? Soundcloud took the joint down but you can still download it HERE!

Something For Your Ears

Meet Al da 3rd (right) and Ra's Rayz (left) - odd names, even for rap (we know, we know) but stick with us this is going somewhere. Promise. Together these producers/rappers are Audiophiles. If it weren't for an unfortunate incident involving a hard drive that wouldn't cooperate for the greater good of hip hop, you'd probably already know of them.
But don't despair, theblagg has a little something something that should serve as a good enough introduction. The song is called Brighter Day and although Al is rumoured to be the better producer of the duo, having produced Reason's You Aint Sny, he doesn't feature on the song. At all. Yup, Ra's Rayz - said to be the better rapper - is on both verses. Peas that make sense for the pod, right?
Audiophiles - Brighter Day by theblagg
This, ahem, "leak" (can we still call it that if it comes from the artists and lands in your inbox, encouraging you to upload it everywhere? I digress) is a nod to that awesome Ronny Jordan song of the same title. See?
So anyway, the Audiophiles version of Brighter Day won't be on the album that they've had to rework. It is, as Ra's Rayz puts it "just a teaser for the fans." Yeah, that means you can download it to your hearts content. It doesn't seem like you'll have to wait a long time for their album to drop though. This is not Detox. Ra's Rayz reassures: "We are recording some of the old songs we lost but mostly new material. We plan to release during the last quarter of the year, around October/November."
What do you think of this joint?
