Ah, the things we do for alliteration. Don't judge me. Anyway, our favourite tag team on the ones and twos have officially secured a weekly gig at Fatback Soul on Long Street in Cape Town. That's right, tonight Mmaphuthi (yes, the rapper) and Makosha will treat music lovers to some pretty laid back but slap-your-momma-it's-so-good music. The pair play under the name Doepel which is derived from their creative collective, Doepelganger (an all female crew which includes Yang). Be sure to click on that link for some more awesomery. We first came across Remy Gold via the lovely ladies at Doepelganger. He recently joined forces with Nonkulululu With 3 Lu's for a Doep set. But we don't live in Cape Town - all together now: aaaaaah!- so we never got to see them together. We've been checking Mr Gold out on soundcloud though and we think he's dope. But don't take our word for it. First watch this video where he shows you how he made this beat in one day and then let us know what you think.
