slumGODs

Ushering in a New Dehli State Of Mind, this is India's first hip hop collective. The group of b-boys and girls, emcees and more are called Slumgods, obviously a play on the blockbuster film, Slumdog Millionaire. However, they stress the difference between the movie and their real lives as Slumgods because "we were never dogs." From this video, we only see a few b-boys battling but it's clear that the hip hop culture has made it's way to that part of the world too and we are definitely not mad at that. Mandeep Sethi - the dude pictured up top - is one of the founding members of the crew and he represents New Dehli, Bombay, San Fran and LA and he has been a torchbearer for hip hop in his communities. What do you guys think of the movement in India?
