Bottom Bitch Blues

"The streets talkin, got the hood goin crazy/Niggas heard I fucked with Ross and had the nigga baby/They said I fucked with Nas and now they say it's AZ/But on the low the real nigga was Jay-Z"

Really? We would've never called it. Come on, Fox! You see, theblagg fux with Foxy Brown but this track right (peep the video above) here wreaks of heaux behaviour. We know, we know, it's Inga's prerogative to get on a track and - littered in between the usual and expected disses directed at Lil' Kim and any/every other girl who raps - run down the list of her coital conquests. But the run-down is not all that interesting, on the real, all three of the people who didn't know Fox smashed the homie probably aren't ever going to hear this leaked track.

The Ill Nana did take to her twitter last Thursday to defend her verse on Let Em Know, explaining that this joint was never even supposed to reach anyone's ears. She went on to say, "EZ Mo Bee was specifically told to delete this song... so the track should have never been released." Uh-huh.

What does it matter that Mr Knowles was the "real nigga"? For real, what does that do for Foxy? Spragga Benz must be somewhere face deep in a coma-inducing blunt. Chances are Jay-Z will ignore this line like it was a Beanie Sigel cry for help. Or like Kim has been doing for time now. Then what has Foxy proved? Is this merely a matter of a woman scorned...?

Remember, in one of the 08 issues of XXL Inga had this to say: "I would never denounce him [Jay-Z] in public. That’s just how I feel. But I’ve been incarcerated for eight months, and Jay’s been everywhere, and he hasn’t mentioned one thing about, ‘Tell her I love her. Tell her to be strong.’ That broke my heart more than anything. When they sent me to jail, I just knew he would be there - everyone came. But he never showed up…"

Oh look, here he comes now with a bouquet of black roses made of hearing aids. Made you look.

The point is, it's difficult for theblagg to show Foxy love for what seems like sour grapes. It's difficult to throw support behind someone who gets more attention because they "admit" to sleeping with someone the whole world already knew she let hit that. It's difficult to see yet another black woman fall on her sword over a broken heart instead of rising phoenix-like and soaring on her talent. But, to paraphrase Mrs Younger, when someone is down is when you are meant to love them more than ever. So theblagg loves you Foxy. If don't nobody else - least of all Jigga - love you.

*Mrs Younger is a character in Lorraine Hansberry's A Raisin In The Sun.

PS: The thoughts expressed above are solely those of The Ordinary Girl who stans hard for girls who rap and reps to the death for black girls in general.

  1. While best sang by Erykah, the notion still remains, "If I could get over that hump, then maybe I will feel better". She, like we all do, had her reasons (plain sillyness-ness counts). Forever write Blaggers, forever write!

  2. Yeah but sometimes you have to get on your grown woman shit and actually realise that being a bottom bitch doesn't mean you can go around talking reckless about a married man. Especially if it's past tense. Fact is Foxy was showing her ass (well... what do you call it) and whether it feels good or not, it makes her look like she wasn't worth listening to before she brought up who she WAS screwing.

  3. And here I was thinking that one of the perks of being what you call a "bottom bitch" would be "talking reckless about a married man. Especially if it's past tense". You say all this like it's beneath her. Ha! Ahh.

  4. Touche Rea, touche. However, I don't think there's such a thing as a perk when you don't have a ring on it. Bottom, yes bottom, line is when you become that insignificant other you give up every "perk/right/overpowering-emotion/[insert your adjective here]" to that man in a public light.

  5. That's the thing though. Harldy ever was a "significant other" if she had to lay her business on a was-to-be-deleted track. Such sillyness-ness doesn't call on the right to do something or a rational of any kind, be it behind closed doors, (where this should have stayed), or in the public light. Hmmm, this kinda sounds like "love". Disturbed much?

  6. But that's what I said, INsignificant. And it really is on some heaux shit if you can't even stand by the dirty laundry you're airing out. Grown woman! I have no doubt that she loved Jay (even though we don't know the two from a bar of soap) but airing their shit out for the world to know is inexcusable. Especially because it comes off as a one more attempt at relevancy. Plus she's been with Spragga Benz for time. I'm saying, you can't sweep it under the rug as some impulsive emotional act when you have other people involved. The Bottom Bitch Blues never sound good on anyone.

  7. Especially because the whole damn world already knew she fcuked Jay-Z! Why bring it up even?

  8. In all fairness... the track was leaked. Yes she was stupid for writing/recording the track, and telling er'body who fucked her [especially when everybody knew already]... but i doubt she would put it out intentionally especially in this day and age. She gains nothing from the fact and it help her career in no way.

As for the "bouquet of black roses made of hearing aids" comment... ouch! That wasn't nice... Repent my child. Repent.
