A Vans Fiasco

The kid Lupe Fiasco, who has done collab with Reebok and Converse already, has added another sneaker collab on his resume' ( Ahem...That's a CV to South Africans ). This time its the skateboard brand Vans.
Vans added Wasalu to its roster of OTW collabs for Spring 2012 and I cannot front on these. They are super clean. I doubt that I'd kick push in these though. Peep them below and tell us what you think.

Japanese Cartoon - "Heirplanes" Music Video

Japanese Cartoon is a new band that is headed up by Lupe Fiasco ( Okay Lu, this should make us even. ). The band also consists of Le Messie who is the brains behind FALSE brand, which is the brand that collaborated with Lupe on the Fallacy of Rome range. Peep some of their pieces on Lupe himself below.

I digress, their music has been described as "an eclectic blend of rock, punk and electronica" .

Here is a video of their single called "Heirplanes" off their debut EP, In the Jaws of The Lords of Death. The video is directed by 13thWitness, whom you probably remember from a post we did on him. Peep the video and tell us what you think.

Lupe Fiasco - I'm Beamin Remix featuring All City Chess Club

After putting up a dodgy picture of Lu in a recent post, we felt it only to make amends. Here is Lupe with his new collective All City Chess Club ( which are The Cool Kids, B.o.B., Asher Roth, The Cool Kids, Diggy Simmons, Blu, Charles Hamilton, Dosage, J.Cole and Wale ) on the remix of his single, for that album that his record label won't drop, I'm Beamin

Unfortunately J. Cole and Wale couldn't make on this one, but they are still part of the crew.

Why Lasers still hasn't come out(Updated with Video)

According to reports by SeanTheRobot of The LupE.N.D. Blog , this is why Atlantic Records has not released Lupe Fiasco's alblum called Lasers.

Lupe said Atlantic wanted him to sign a contract that would give them 25% of anything he makes from shows or deals with other companies like Nike or whatever. (Sean's note: That's a 360 deal) He told them NO so they threatened him by not pushing any of his new songs on the radio or giving him money to make the videos (the I'm Beamin' video came out of his own pocket). Also they basically don't like his music or the way Lupe put it 'They think I'm whack'. So Atlantic sent him hooks they wanted him to do. He recorded them and sent them back but they didn't like them anymore and tried to have him change the hooks like 60 different times. In the end he had enough.

Peep the video to hear it from the horse's mouth.

Messed up isn't it?

Love Letter to the Beat

"Love Letter to the Beat" started as an Alicia Keys record produced by Chad Hugo of The Neptunes and was supposed to be on Mrs. Beats 2007 album As I Am. Unfortunately it didn't make the final cut. Rapper Lupe Fiasco then got a hold of the joint and felt like he could do it justice and so he put his vocals alongside Alicia's and made this version of "Love Letter to the Beat".No word as yet if this will be on Lupe's Lazers album. What do you think of the joint?

blaggappreciates:

Dwayne Wayne!

Did you know – if Wikipedia is to be believed - Kadeem Hardison is damn near 50? How old does that make Rosie Perez?

Ok, back from that random tangent.

Kadeem has done a million and one things on screen to impress us and we respect his gangsta (Chante's Got A Man, anyone?) so we salute the brotha. He’ll always be the adorable Dwayne Wayne - prototype of a boyfriend/cool ass dude - to The Ordinary Girl. Plus he gets Dude’s stamp of approval for being in a Lupe Fiasco music video. What’s good for the Lupstar is good for the losers, I mean lasers right? That made absolutely no sense right? Well here is something that does, a mash-up montage of the opening sequence of A Different World’s seasons 1 to 3. Sorry about the video quality.

Clap for him.
